A family-run English school providing a consistent standard of teaching in line with modern methodologies

St Brelade’s College is the only British Council accredited school in the Channel Islands. Our principles remain the same today as in 1978 when the school was founded; to provide relevant and motivating English lessons as part of a comprehensive learning package.

Teaching methods

Our structured syllabus with a focus on communication has been devised in order to bridge the gap between what students learn in the classroom and what’s outside the door. We use up-to-date course books enhanced by stimulating activities and authentic media. Participation and interaction are encouraged in multilingual classes, to help students gain confidence academically and socially.

We promote continual learning for our teachers, through internal workshops, appraisals and training courses so that their teaching styles and skills are in line with modern practice.

Study centre locations

At St Brelade’s College, we run programmes for both juniors and adults. At different times of the year, students study at different locations.

Outside of summer, all junior and adult courses are held at St Brelade’s College in St Aubin.

In the summer, all holiday course students (12-16 years) study at Highlands College (a local college of further education), close to St Helier. Older teenagers on the semi intensive or adult intensive courses (16 & 17 years), along with adults, study at St Brelade’s College.
