Short language stays for adult groups

Welcome to St Brelade’s College on the island of Jersey

St Brelade’s College is a British Council accredited English language school, established in 1978 on the beautiful island of Jersey – the largest of the British Channel Islands. Only 1 hour and 20 minutes by ferry from St Malo or a 45 minute flight from London, Jersey is easily accessible at all times of year.

We can provide a tailor-made programme for adult students 18 years and above in the spring and autumn. The programme is designed for groups of up to 55 students, plus group leaders. It provides a short immersion into the English language and culture.

English classes are delivered by our experienced and qualified English teaching staff, which can be combined with an activity programme of cultural, sporting or professional visits to suit your preferences and budget.

Accommodation can be provided in homestays or one of our well-located student residences, which are equipped with communal facilities so students can relax, socialise and even prepare their own meals if they wish.

Cultural visits

Jersey has an abundance of beautiful landscapes and clean beaches, along with a rich heritage so students have a wide range of options for afternoon activities. Learn more about Jersey’s rich history with a visit to one of many heritage sites including; Mont Orgeuil Castle, Elizabeth Castle, La Hougue Bie, The Jersey War Tunnels, The Jersey Museum. Please note: opening times vary depending on the time of year.

Outdoor activities

Jersey has a wide range of indoor and outdoor sporting activities on offer. For example, surfing, kayaking, stand up paddleboard (SUP), ten pin bowling, crazy golf or indoor football / badminton / squash. Or for a cost-free option, we can provide equipment for beach sports or team building games. Jersey has some spectacular beaches and walks around the island. Choose from north coast walks, such as Grosnez to Plemont, St Catherine’s east coast walk, St Brelade’s bay to Beauport bay, Val de la Mare reservoir walks. In some cases, it is possible to combine walks or beach visits with activities.

Professional visits

For students studying a particular area, we can organise visits to local businesses – for example a major hotel, catering school or harbour.

Social evenings

Join our staff and students at local pub to practice speaking English in an informal setting (drinks are not included). We can also help organise a meal out at one of Jersey’s many restaurants, or why not cook a meal together at the residence?

Travel

Many of our groups arrive early on Monday morning and come straight to school and leave on Friday after activities. This maximises the experience, whilst keeping the cost low, as students can participate in 5 mornings of lessons, 5 activities but only require 4 nights accommodation. Please check Condor Ferries arrival times to see what options may be suitable for your group.

Please note: For groups of under 20 students there is a 10% surcharge.
